An instrument that determines lead concentration in
milligrams per square centimeter (mg/cm2 ) using the
Fluorescence Analyzer
(XRF)
principle of x-ray fluorescence (XRF). Two types of XRF
analyzers are used--direct readers and spectrum analyzers.
In this SOW, the term XRF analyzer only refers to portable
instruments manufactured to analyze paint, and does not
refer to laboratory- grade units or portable instruments
designed to analyze soil. (1995 HUD Guidelines)
